Youth LEAD is an evidence-inspired program that utilizes a peer-to-peer approach to preventing and reducing alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drug use and abuse among Indiana youth.
Youth LEAD is designed to normalize positive choices, thoughtful decision-making, and self-efficacy through the use of peer co-facilitated interactive lessons, games, and activities.
Youth LEAD incorporates social emotional learning and the cognitive behavioral process to cultivate emotional skills, character development, civic engagement, service learning, and youth empowerment. Youth LEAD develops additional skills for preventing risky behavior through peer pressure refusal, pro-social involvement, decision making, and thoughtful reflection.
Geminus Corporation provides administrative oversight for Youth LEAD, which is made possible due to funding from the Division of Mental Health and Addiction (part of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration).
