Meet the LEAD Initiative team!

Mariaelena Trejo

Hello, I am Mariaelena Trejo, Prevention Assistant at Geminus Corporation. I have an associate degree in human services and have been in the prevention field for 14 years. I am passionate about bringing awareness, resources, and education to youth and adults on drug and alcohol abuse and suicide prevention. My hope is to promote physical and mental health wellness so that the young and old can live healthy and productive lives. I am also happily married to my husband of 7 years and a mom of a brave and sweet three-year-old boy. I like to read, spend time with my family and enjoy adult coloring books.

Lisa Scott

My name is Lisa Scott, Prevention Program Coordinator, for Geminus Corporation. I have been with the organization for 3 years and during my tenure I have managed 2 grants, STOP Act (Sober Truth on Preventing Underage Drinking) and Youth LEAD (Leading and Educating Across Domains). I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana State University in 2008. I have worked in the non-profit field for 8 years and I am very passionate about working with youth. It is fulfilling to coordinate programs and help develop curricula that encourage youth to excel. The Youth LEAD program has been a great experience because it has allowed me to live my passion and network with different youth organizations. I am very family oriented and whether it’s movie night or a road trip, I enjoy nothing more than spending quality time with my 14-year-old daughter.

Eric Evans

Hi, I am Eric Evans and I serve as the Director of Prevention Services at Geminus Corporation. I started in prevention services 10 years ago and began working with LEAD Initiative over 8 years ago. I am excited to see how many lives we have been able to positively impact. At Geminus, I oversee multiple grant-funded initiatives. I also provide trainings, conference workshops, and presentations around the United States, and at local school districts, behavioral health centers, and throughout communities in Indiana. Prior to entering the prevention field, I received a master of arts in communication studies and a graduate certificate in non-profit management. It is important to me to give back and to assist others when and where I can. I serve on the Northwest Indiana Suicide Prevention Council, Lake County Substance Abuse Council, Indiana State Suicide Prevention Network Advisory Council, Lake County Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Coalition, and the Indiana State LGBT Special Population Committee. But my most import job title is that of “Daddy” for my 4-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter. I cherish every hug, nighttime story, game of hide-and-seek and giggle, as they are my world.
